Hello, friends, family and fellow musicians!  Welcome to the newly-crafted Ann Kapp Andersen website.  This project represents many hours of work and worry on the part of my chief webmaster (and chief sweetheart), Thayne Andersen.  I hope that you will find my music useful and enjoyable to perform.  The music has been grouped into categories according to occasions/events where it may most appropriately be performed.  Just use your shopping cart as you would in any other website; payment is made by your credit card via PayPal.

A few words of explanation:  Nearly a third of my life has been lived in Alaska, so it's only natural that I would write a good deal of music drawing on that experience.  Some of the pieces are Alaska-specific, which means their use may be somewhat limited.  But just keep in mind that the Spell of the North Country, the "Alaska mystique", is alive and well in the hearts of many, and music about Alaska may prove more interesting to your audiences than you might think.  I am greatly indebted to Dr. Suzanne Summerville and the Fairbanks Choral Society for furnishing the ideas, inspiration and impetus :-) for much of this music.

Another few words:  All three thirds of my life so far have been spent as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS/Mormon), and much of the religious music I have written tends to reflect that fact.  However, many of our Church's beliefs are shared to some extent by other Christian sects, and most of my music is applicable to whichever religious service you prefer.  I hope you will use and enjoy the religious music you find on this website as just what it is -- religious music.

A few words regarding voicings:  You will notice that many of the songs on this website are written for SATB adult choirs with unison children's part.  In any of these songs, a strong soloist (or more than one soloist) may be used in substitution for the children's voices.  There are also places in some of the music where additional instruments may be added at your discretion. In the two-part children's songs, adult (parents or teachers) and children's voices may be combined in any combination you choose.

If you have questions or comments about any of my music, I would welcome a note from you via my e-mail address of akatunesmith@yahoo.com , or you may call me at 208-286-4804 (home) or 208-317-9434 (cell).

So.....WELCOME ABOARD!  and ENJOY!
